Ichabod Crane Boys Basketball Preview 2017-2018

It’s a new season for the Ichabod Crane Riders Boys Varsity Basketball team, as they look to have as much success as they did last year. Last year the Riders made it to the Section 2 Class B Semifinals, and lost to a very powerful Glens Falls team led by Joseph Girard III.
The Riders lost a lot of players, due to graduation this year, including Peter Volkmann, Brad Kittle, Joseph Werner, Casey Rutkey, Austin Valliere, Garrett Kilcer, and Bryant Halpin.
This will be a very young team, as the only returners are seniors Chad Salazar, Matt Ragosta, CJ Ferrari, and Peyton Mavrides. They also get back junior Christian Pesano and sophomore Rama Culver.
Coming up from last years JV squad are juniors Donovan Brown, and Jack Baumgartner. They also gain sophomores Austin Walsh, Cameron Holzhauer, Eddie Ogden, Zach Kennedy, and Michael Vecellio.
This will no doubt be a tough season for the Riders as they are young and have to develop a lot of players, but I think they can pull out a couple quality wins.
My Season Predictions:
Conference Record: 8-6
Regular Season Record: 11-7
MVP: Christian Pesano
OPOY: Christian Pesano
DPOY: Matt Ragosta
