Cox Commits To Mercyhurst
Last year Ichabod Crane student-athlete Gabbie Cox committed to play Division 1 Women's Hockey at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania on a full athletic scholarship. Gabbie plays travel hockey from September to April every year. She plays on two teams, a boys team and a girls team, she plays for the Bethlehem Eagles boys team and the Clifton Park Dynamo girls team. The Mercyhurst Lakers Women’s hockey team competes in the CHA (College Hockey America) Conference with Penn State, Syracuse, Robert Morris, RIT, and Lindenwood. Last season they came in third with a conference record of 11-8-1 and an overall record of 15-18-2. Last year Mercyhurst finished #22 in the NCAA NC Women’s Hockey RPI Poll. Last year the Lakers lost in the CHA Championship to Lindenwood, 3-2.
