Three Things to Take Away From the Series
The Dodgers Are Back on Top
The Dodgers are finally back to playing good October baseball. After finishing the month of September losing 20 out of 25 games, ended the season with 104 wins. With the Diamondbacks easily being the better team of late, the Dodgers put them to rest outscoring the D-Backs 20-11 in the series. The Dodgers have already clinched home-field advantage for the NLCS and the rest of the playoffs, sitting pretty ahead of this high hopes World Series Season
Blast it Like Bellinger
Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger has made his way back to earth, hitting his first homerun since September 22nd on Sunday night. The rook has blasted 39 homeruns this season, breaking a Dodgers record. Bellinger is a key part to the offense and will need to keep rolling in the postseason if the Dodgers want a shot at the World Series.
Darvish Fits Like A Glove
In August, the Dodgers acquired Yu Darvish from the Rangers in free agency and he has found his spot in the rotation. He finished off Game 3 for the Dodgers against the Diamondbacks, going 5 innings with 7 strikeouts and one earned run allowed. The timing for Darvish to come around is perfect. These are the situations where you need guys that have been hanging around all season to come around and fill in for those mistakes you have had.
The Dodgers are set to face the winner of the Cubs and the Nationals in the NLCS. For continued coverage of the MLB Postseason, stay with Upstate Sports Zone… @upstate_sports
