The Move for the D-Backs Is LA, Top Rockies and Advance to the NLDS

Two prime NL West teams squared off in the NL Wild Card on Wednesday night with the season on the line. The Diamondbacks topped the Rockies 11-8 to advance to the NLDS against the Dodgers. The question for Arizona is can they carry this into the NLDS and play just as well as they did the whole season against the Dodgers.

Arizona went up 6-0 early, but couldn’t hold the lead before the Rockies put up a fight. Paul Goldschmidt launched a 3 run blast to allow the Diamondbacks to build the lead. From there Zack Grenkie fell off a cliff and he gave up 4 earned, Colorado then hit back to back ding dongs to cut the lead to one. The Diamondbacks put it away in the 8th, scoring three times in their half to put it away. Arizona had an amazing total of 17 hits in the game, Jake Lamb having four, all singles, and scored three times.

Game one of the NLDS is Friday in LA. A team known for a battling mindset is a clear dark horse to win the World Series. The Diamondbacks were steamrolling most teams in the end of the season, including the Dodgers, so it presents a new hope, with hopes of bringing home the World Series Crown.
