My Players of the Week:
Player of the Week:
Josh Rosen, Quarterback, UCLA
35/59, 491 YDS, 4 TD
Rosen led the Bruins to a 34-point comeback against the Texas A&M Aggies, where he threw all four of his touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Bruins took the win 45-44.
ACC Player of the Week:
Josh Jackson, Quarterback, Virginia Tech
15-26, 235 YDS, 1 TD, 11 CAR, 101 YDS, 1 TD
Jackson led the #21 Hokies to a 31-24 win against a good West Virginia team in week one. Not only did the Freshman lead his team in passing, but he also did so in rushing.
ACC Player of the Week Honorable Mention:
TaQuon Marshall, Quarterback, Georgia Tech
5-9, 120 YDS, 44 CAR, 249 YDS, 5 TD
The only reason Marshall isn’t my ACC Player of the Week is because the Yellow Jackets lost to Tennessee 42-41 in double-overtime. Marshall was phenomenal the whole game, and the Vols defense couldn’t stop him. This guy is a QUARTERBACK running for 249 yards and 5 touchdowns?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? That’s ridiculous!!!
BIG 12 Player of the Week:
Baker Mayfield, Quarterback, Oklahoma
19-20, 329 YDS, 3 TD
Mayfield threw just one incomplete pass in the Sooners 56-7 win over UTEP. He also threw for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns.
B1G Ten Player of the Week:
Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Penn State
14 CAR, 172 YDS, 2 TD
The Heisman hopeful ran for 172 yards and 2 touchdowns in Penn State’s 52-0 shutout of Akron in week one.
PAC-12 Player of the Week:
Ronald Jones II, Running Back, USC
18 CAR, 159 YDS, 3 TD
Jones led the Trojans to a 49-31 win over Western Michigan, he ran for 159 yards and 3 touchdowns.
SEC Player of the Week:
John Kelly, Running Back, Tennessee
19 CAR, 128 YDS, 4 TD
Kelly was HUGE in the Vols 42-41 double OT win over Georgia Tech. He ran for 4 touchdowns, and they were all huge moments. The first came in the second quarter to tie the game at 7. His second TD didn’t come until the fourth quarter where he tied the game at 28 to send it to OT. He scored again in OT to tie it at 35, and lastly he scored in double OT to go ahead 42-35.
