Former Broncos S Signs With The Buccaneers
Former Broncos and Browns safety TJ Ward signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early Sunday morning for 1yr/$5M. He was cut by the Broncos on Saturday but before he was cut the Broncos were looking for a trade partner but couldn't find a match so they cut him. He was part of a great defense in Denver that eventually led the Broncos to a Super Bowl 50 victory against the Carolina Panthers. Ward had 7 teams bidding for his services but only talked to 3 of them and the Buccaneers were obviously one of those teams. He is joining a team on the rise with a great defense and where he can immediately get the starting job. The Buccaneers upgraded their safety position in the offseason by signing former Cowboy JJ Wilcox and drafting Texas A&M safety Justin Evans in the second round. Tampa Bay has made plenty of signings this offseason to prove to their fan base that they are ready to compete and win the NFC South Division.
