Yes, Doug Fister Actually Threw A 1-Hitter Against One Of The Best Teams In Baseball
Back in late June the Red Sox picked up this dude Doug Fister off the waiver wire from the Angels. I thought to myself “Wow I am pretty sure we are the most desperate team in the MLB.” FORGET THAT. THIS DUDE JUST ONE HIT THE CLEVELAND INDIANS! THE 69-55 CLEVELAND INDIANS!!!!
Well this wasn’t a great start, but it lead to a 1-hitter so it doesn't matter. First inning Fister gives up a bomb to Francisco Lindor. Ok, whatever tie game. WELL THIS DUDE JUST WENT ON AN ABSOLUTE RAMPAGE. He said “Oh yeah? You wanna hit a bomb off of me? Huh? Yeah take that!”
So yeah Doug Fister was freakin’ good, but the offense? Oh baby, the offense was cookin’ tonight! Eduardo Nunez was 2 for 5, with a double, a homerun, and 5 freakin’ RBIs. Jackie Bradley Jr., JBJ, JB JESUS whatever you wanna call him went 2 for 3 with a dinger. Hanley Ramirez went 2 for 4 with an RBI, Andrew Benintendi had a double and went 1 for 5, and Sandy Leon had a hit and an RBI.
This game was great. Especially cause we lost last night, it makes tonight even sweeter. Oh and by the way the Sox ended up winning 9-1.
