The biggest test for this Texas team is against USC. Primetime game against possibly one of the best teams in college football. USC has the best quarterback in college football and possible Heisman winner in Sam Darnold, so the Texas D will have to come to play a full 60-minute game. If the Longhorns could win that game, it could define their season early and it would be a headline win for the new coach Tom Herman. The toughest conference game is no other than the old Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma. If you recall, that was Charlie Strong’s only signature win as the head coach against Oklahoma at their home. Coach Herman will have his team ready against QB Baker Mayfield. Oklahoma has always been a high tempo offense so being able to control that will be crucial. Again, if Texas wins that game Longhorn Nation will have the bragging rights again this season. Other notable games, the game at TCU should be good because it was so uncharacteristic of TCU to have a down year like they did last year, so it should be a tough road game especially when it’s against TCU. I think Texas will have a bounce back year and I believe they will be better than people say they will be. Longhorn Nation should be excited because the coach that is in charge is a former Longhorn and he knows what it takes to put a winning team on the field.
