Price, Eck Feud On Sox Flight
This is NOT good for the Red Sox at all. David Price and Hall of Fame Pitcher, and NESN Broadcaster Dennis Eckersley got into a verbal argument on the team's flight to Toronto. Eckersley said “Yuck” in regards to Eduardo Rodriguez’s rehab start on June 29th in Pawtucket. Price stood in the middle of the plane while Eckersley was making his way to the back (where broadcasters traditionally sit on the plane) when Price stood in his way and shouted “Here he is -- the greatest pitcher who ever lived! This game is easy for him!” Shocked, Eckersley tried to say something back when he was interrupted by Price who said “Get the f**k out of here!” Many players then applauded. Eckersley finally made his way to the back of the plane. In the middle of the short flight Eckersley got up again and walked to the front of the plane where the President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski was seated. When Eckersley walked through the middle of the plane where players were playing their card games, Price went at him again saying “Get the f**k out of here!” once again. Price was asked about the confrontation the following day. When asked he said “Some people don’t understand how hard this game is.” That statement is complete BS. “Some people don’t get how hard this game is” Oh my god. Im sure HALL OF FAME pitcher Dennis Eckersley has NO CLUE how hard baseball is, yes that’s it David, he has no clue. Yet his name is enshrined on a plaque in this building in Cooperstown, New York that is called the National Baseball Hall of Fame. This is just awful for the Red Sox, like the team is battling for first in the AL East and now is the time we pick to have a confrontation with a media member? Price, and the players that applauded Price (who have yet to be named) must apologize to Dennis Eckersley for their disrespect and actions.
