Brandon Ingram, Lakers Show Potential at Summer League, Win Championship in Process
The Lakers have won the 2017 NBA Summer League Championship. The #15 seed Lakers beat the #16 seed Trail Blazers 110-98 with Kyle Kuzma winning the Finals game MVP award. Lonzo Ball, a breakout star in Summer League, was announced the MVP before the Lakers final game. Lonzo averaged 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game in Summer League. He was clearly a standout performer in Summer League and he didn’t even have to play in the final game to win it! His ability to pass the ball has really caught attention from the whole NBA. Ball recorded 3 triple-doubles in Summer League this year (no other player has gotten more than 1). We all can’t wait until Lonzo plays in the real NBA and see if he can do all of the things that he has done in Summer League. If he can play like he did in Summer League there is a very big chance that he could get the Rookie of the Year award at the end of the year.
