Sox Take Game 3 vs Twins, 6-3
The Boston Red Sox completed their 3 game series with the 1st place Minnesota Twins with a 6-3 win in Boston on Thursday night. Jackie Bradley Jr. led the offensive charge for the Red Sox going 3 for 4 with an RBI, and a run. One of his three hits was his 12th double of the year. Rookie Tzu Wei Lin had a nice night going 2 for 4 with a triple, and a run scored. Mookie Betts hit his 13th home run of the year, which was one of his 2 hits, he also collected 2 RBI’s and scored a run. Lastly Hanley Ramirez was 1 for 3 with his 11th home run, collecting an RBI, and he scored twice as well. David Price got the start for the Red Sox going 7 innings allowing just 3 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 7. Setup man Joe Kelly threw in the 8th not giving up anything, and Craig Kimbrel collected his 22nd save of the year in the 9th striking out 2 and giving up just 1 hit. For the Twins Kyle Gibson went 5.2 innings allowing 5 runs, only 3 earned, on 6 hits. Brian Dozier went 2 for 4, one of those hits being a double, he also scored a run. Joe Mauer went 2 for 4 with a run scored, and an RBI. The Boston Red Sox take on the last place Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto for a three-game weekend series. Tomorrow’s game will be at 7:07 pm.
