Sox, Yanks Battle in the Bronx
Tonight the Boston Red Sox travel to the Bronx to take on the New York Yankees. First pitch is at 7:05 pm and you can tune in on MLB Network. So the Sox have come into this game winning 6 out of their last 10 games. On the other side the Bronx Bombers have slowed down and are 5-5 in their last 10. So the big question is what to expect from this series? Two good young teams, will it be competitive? You betcha it will! After the 2000’s when the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry was full of heat and you had guys like Big Papi, A-Rod, Manny Ramirez, Jeter, Pedro, and Mariano Rivera going head to head, it was fun to watch and they were competitive games. Ever since around 2010 these games turned into a bunch of crap tossin’. I mean really? These teams were absolutely trash. When the Red Sox were finally good in 2013 the Yankees were trash. But now is the time we get to see two great teams go head to head! Could this be the return of the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry?! I think so. Guys like Aaron Judge, Mookie Betts, Gary Sanchez, Andrew Benintendi, Luis Severino, and Chris Sale are the new guys to fill the spots of those guys that made the rivalry what it is. Now these young guys have to bring it back. That’s exactly what I think they'll do. Now to answer your question, what to expect from this series. I expect high intensity games, the seats will be filled, the atmosphere will be electric and the games will be close, very close. I expect one run games. In game 1 Poopy Pants Pomewanz gets the start against Masahiro Tanaka. Pomeranz actually hasn’t been that much of the Poopy Pants Pomewanz we’ve seen this year, he's gotten better and if he can keep it up I can see the Sox winning this game by a couple of runs if their bats get hot against the absolutely awful Tanaka. In game 2 Pretty Ricky Porcello takes the hill against CC Sabathia. CC has been decent this year with a 6-2 record, but if the Sox can heat up against him they can score some runs and maybe win a close one, but in order to do that Porcello needs to pitch good, something he hasn’t really been able to do this year. In game 3 it’s David Price vs Michael Pineda, if Price can throw like he did in Baltimore on Saturday than the Sox can win this game fairly easily. Every game is at 7:05 pm on MLB Network.
