This morning, it was announced that UNC would receive the National #2 Seed in the College Baseball Tournament. With the seed comes with hosting the Chapel Hill Regional starting Friday at Boshamer Stadium. The Tar Heels’ first opponent in the #RoadtoOhama will be Davidson. That game will follow FGCU and Michigan; first pitch is scheduled for 6PM.
This is Carolina’s 30th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. All time the Heels are 60-33 under Coach Fox and have won 50 games in the post season since 2006. This season, Carolina finished 47-12 and captured the ACC Coastal Division Championship.
Earlier this season when Carolina played Davidson, the game ended in a 7-6 10 inning thriller. Carolina’s offensive charge is going to be key in the regional against some of the nation’s top hitting teams. The Chapel Hill Regional champion will advance to face the winner of the Houston Regional in the Super Regional round for the right to advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
