Jeff Hoffman Dealing for the Rockies, Picks Up Second Straight Win

One of Upstate NY's greatest baseball players to come out of the area is no doubt Jeff Hoffman. With questions on where Jeff would be placed this year, he is making himself known to be great. The main issue with Hoffman last year was that he couldn't find his command fastball at times. Hoffman started the season in Triple-A Albuquerque, but caught the spot start against the Dodgers earlier in the month. That night, Hoffman picked up his first major league win, sitting down 8 in just 5 innings work. The Rockies sent him back down, but again caught a spot start vs the Phillies tonight and performed exceptionally well. Sitting down 7, only allowing 3 hits in 7 innings work. On the season Hoffman improves to 2-0 with a 3.29 ERA, an impressive stat for a 24 year old. With tonight's win the Rockies move to 29-15, only the Astros have a better record at 30-15. The Rockies take on the Phillies again tomorrow, first pitch 7:05PM. Questions on Hoffman's placement will continue to arise as the Rockies look to keep the first place run going in the race for an NL West title and a spot in the playoffs. Another problem arises with the return of Story from the DL. But one thing we do know, is that he is more than ready to take the next step.
