Rory Mcilroy Out for BMW Championship
One of the world’s most premier golfers is struggling right now due to injury, that player is Rory McIlroy. The problems all began with his back, and now it has spread to his ribs. The injury started following the South African Open in January when he sat out six weeks due to rib injury.
In a statement released through the European Tour, the world number two said: “Having had a reaction to my earlier rib injury, I have been advised to take a conservative approach to my recovery which unfortunately means I have to withdraw from the BMW PGA Championship next week. “It’s a disappointing decision to have to make, but I have to ensure I make a full recovery. I will now continue the process of preparing my game for the US Open and the rest of the season”.
Let’s not forget that Rory is a four-time major champion, all titles won with Nike. The circulation around the tour is that when Rory’s club company, Nike, shutdown all production of products. The shutdown forced Rory to test out other rigorous product testing experiments.
The next tournament Rory is set to play in is the Jack Nicklaus Memorial Tournament, two weeks before the US Open. If McIlroy was to miss that tournament, that would be a long span of him not playing competitive golf, something nobody wants ahead of a major.
