Mookie Hits 3-Run Jack to Lift Sox Over Brewers 4-1
The Red Sox closed out the -game series against the Brewers with a 4-1 win in the 9th inning. Mookie Betts was huge as he belted a 3-run ding dong in the 9th to win it. He finished 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI, he also scored 2 runs. Eduardo Rodriguez got the start on the bump and went a solid 6 innings, so finally a good start from a Red Sox pitcher this series. He gave up just 1 run on 3 hits. Craig Kimbrel got the win though going 2-0 on the year. He went 1.2 innings allowing just 1 hit and striking out 5. On the Brewers side Jonathan Villar went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and a double. Former Red Sock Travis Shaw went 1 for 4 with a double. Jimmy Nelson was on the hill and he went 6.2 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 4 hits while striking out 8. Neftali Feliz ended up with the Loss going a third of an inning allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and walked 1. The Sox return home Friday to face division rival Tampa Bay Rays at 7:10 pm. Pretty Ricky Rick Porcello (2-4, 3.95 ERA) gets the start for the Sox as he takes on Alex Cobb (2-3, 3.56 ERA) of the Rays. I think this will be a good series for Boston. They have Porcello and Sale going Friday and Saturday and then its back to poopy pants Pomewanz on Sunday. The Rays are a team not to be overlooked and I think this series can get the Sox going.
