Golden State Sweep and Send Jazz Home, Advance the Western Conference Finals
The talk of the playoffs thus far hasn’t been Curry or the Warriors or anyone really in the Western Conference, its been all about the Cavs and the C’s and the Eastern Conference. This article is a focus on a team that is really flying under the radar and could capture a championship, the Warriors
Let me start with one factoid, ever since Klay Thompson signed the toaster, the Warriors are 23-0 since then. Last night, Curry and Draymond went off, Curry scoring 30 for the game. It was all about the fast start, ignited by the Splash Brothers. The Jazz started 3 for 16 from the field as Golden State hit from all areas and finished shooting 57.1 percent in the first quarter. A 14-0 run by the Jazz in the second quarter cut the lead to 10 at the half. By the time the Jazz knew it the game was out of their hands when the Warriors pushed it to a 15+ point game.
There is a lot to be proud of in Utah, as the Jazz ended a four year playoff drought. They are developing all-stars in Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert who is a defensive player of the year award. If the Jazz can keep their veteran combos that they picked up this season they should be in good shape for next season.
4. Wins. Away. Amazing to think that the Warriors are just 4 wins away from getting back to the NBA finals for the 3rd straight year. This team is stacked and I don’t think they are stopping.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr remains out for the Warriors after have a spinal leak cord procedure at Duke on Friday. There is no timeable for his return.
For now the Warriors can be well rested as they await the winner of the Spurs/Rockets series. For continued coverage of the NBA playoffs, stay with Upstate Sports Zone… @upstate_sports
