Rangers Come Alive, Take Game 3
The New York Rangers took game 3 by a score of 4-1 to make the series 2-1. The Rangers were working on all cylinders as every line was able to get on the board. The Rangers would strike first for the third time this series as Mats Zuccarello would blast home a one-timer from a pass by Mika Zibanejad to make it 1-0. Then with about 7 minutes left Craig Anderson would make a costly turnover and Michael Grabner would put in a wrap around to make it 2-0. Henrik Lundqvist would only have to make 5 saves during the first period. Going into the second the Rangers had the momentum to run away with the game, and they almost did. With about 8 minutes left in the second period Derek Stepan and Rick Nash would go on a 2 on 1 breakaway and Rick Nash would roof the puck past Anderson to make it 3-0. The Rangers would get their last goal as Oscar Lindberg would put a beautiful feed from J.T. Miller to make it 4-0. This was Oscar Lindberg’s first NHL playoff goal. Then only 32 seconds later Bobby Ryan would send a pass to Jean-Gabriel Pageau who would tip it past Lundqvist to make it 4-1. This would be the only goal Henrik gave up the game after facing 27 shots through three periods. This win puts the Rangers right back in the series after the lost 2 straight.
