Ducks Lose Playoff Streak, Lose Game 1
The Edmonton Oilers took game 1 in fashion as they beat the Anaheim Ducks by a score of 5-3. The first period would be scoreless as Cam Talbot and John Gibson would come up strong to make huge saves. The Ducks would strike first as Ryan Getzlaf would score 37 seconds into the second period on the powerplay to make it 1-0. Mark Letestu would score a powerplay goal 6 minutes later as he jumped on top of a rebound to make it 1-1. Letestu would score yet again in this game. Going 6 minutes into the third period Letestu would score yet again on the powerplay as he jumped on top of another rebound to make ti 2-1 in favor of the Oilers. 2 minutes later Adam Larsson would snipe the puck past Gibson for his first of two on the night, but the Ducks would not give any leverage. Only a minute later Patrick Eaves would jump on a rebound after Ryan Getzlaf tipped the puck in front and Eaves was there to put it home, 3-2. Then another minute later the Ducks would tie it up as Jakob Silfverberg would get to the net and bat a puck out of mid-air to make it 3-3, but the Oilers would make sure it would not stay tied for long. 5 minutes later Adam Larsson would score his second of the night as he banked the puck home on a weird shot to make it 4-3. This goal would eventually be the game winning goal for the Oilers. With only 2 minutes to go in the game Leon Draisaitl would put in the empty net goal to make it 5-3 Oilers. The Ducks lost their 4 game playoff win streak with this loss.
