Rangers Knock Out Canadiens, Win Game 6
The New York Rangers have knocked out the Montreal Canadiens as they won game 6 by a score of 3-1 to move on to round 2 for the 5th time in 6 years. Montreal would open the scoring 6 minutes into the first as Alexei Emelin would wrist the puck up high to give the Habs the 1-0 lead. The Rangers would make sure they would not lose this game. Only 2 minutes into the second Mika Zibanejad would fire a pass to Mats Zuccarello who would snipe the puck to make it 1-1. 11 minutes later, Zuccarello would score again as Kevin Hayes would feed the puck in front to Zuccarello and he would deflect the puck past Price to give the Rangers the 2-1 lead. That goal would eventually be the game winner. The third period was another goalie duel, the many of this series between Lundqvist and Price. When the Habs would get a breakaway, Lundqvist would rob them and then it would go down to the Canadiens side as Price would come stand up. Then with only seconds remaining Derek Stepan would float the puck down the ice to put the Canadiens down 3-1. This is the second time in three years that the Rangers would knock out the Canadiens, they last did it in 2014 to move on to the Stanley Cup Finals.
