Rangers Take Series Lead, Win in Overtime

The New York Rangers were able to take the series lead 3 games to 2 over the Montreal Canadiens on a game winning goal from Mika Zibanejad in overtime. The Habs would strike first in this game as Marc Staal would make a bad turnover in the Rangers zone, and Artturi Lehkonen would put the puck past Lundqvist’s pad to make the score 1-0. Around 3 minutes later with the Rangers being on the penalty kill, Mika Zibanejad would steal the puck from the Canadiens defense and he would find Jesper Fast who would score a shorthanded goal to make it 1-1. Then only seconds later, Brendan Gallagher would snipe the puck past Lundqvist on the powerplay to make it 2-1 Montreal. Then, the Rangers tightened up on the backcheck, they would make sure that it would stay 2-1. Then, with one minute left in the second period, Rick Nash would put the puck on net and Brady Skjei would tap it home to make it 2-2. Then, the third period was a goaltenders duel, with Lundqvist stopping the Habs captain on the breakaway, to Price making key saves to send this game to OT. Then, with about 8 minutes left in the overtime period, Chris Kreider would float a pass to Mika Zibanejad who would deflect it past Price to win the game.
