Bruins Stay Alive from an Unlikely Hero, Wins Thriller in Double Overtime

The Ottawa Senators came into last night’s game looking to win the series, but the Boston Bruins had another thing in mind. They knew it was win or go home and try to force a game 6 back at the TD Garden. The Bruins and Senators played a classic playoff hockey game. Both teams giving it they're all knowing what was at stake. The Senators scored first from a goal from Mike Stone in the 1st period. The second period started and in a blink of an eye the Senators scored from Jean-Gabriel Pageau to take a 2-0 lead. The Bruins fought to get one on the board and David Pasternak put in a rebound shot to cut the lead down to one. Rookie Sean Kuraly scored his first ever NHL goal on the biggest stage for the Bruins. No one scored in the third so they were headed back to overtime for the third time in the series. In overtime, there was a controversial goaltender interference call that would’ve ended the game for the Bruins, but there wasn’t enough evidence for the refs back in Toronto to overturn the call, so the call stood. The first overtime period wasn’t enough so they played a second overtime period. The second overtime period was big, crucial penalty kills and a big time goal. It was that kid again, Sean Kuraly scored his second career goal in the NHL and it was a crucial one for the Bruins. It was assisted from Justin Morrow and a beautiful pass from David Backes. Tuukka Rask finished with 41 game saving saves. Bruins force a game 6 back home in Boston on Sunday and they’re looking to tie the series at three.
