Rangers Tie Series, Beat Canadiens In Must Win Game
The New York Rangers edged out the Canadiens by a score of 2-1 and they were also able to tie the series at 2-2 behind Henrik Lundqvist’s 23 saves. The Rangers would strike first about halfway into the first period as Jesper Fast would pick up the puck on a turnover and sneak the puck past Price to make it 1-0. Then with one minute remaining the Habs would go on a 2 on 1 and score on a wide open cage to make it 1-1. Earlier in the first the Rangers would almost score to make it 2-0, but it was called off and the Rangers were given a penalty on the play. Rick Nash would score the second and final goal for the Rangers and for the game as Nash picked up a rebound in front of Price off a shot from Ryan McDonagh to make the game 2-1. Throughout the whole game, Henrik Lundqvist held the fort New York making huge key saves to keep this game at one goal game for the New York Rangers. Carey Price did the same for the Habs, making huge saves to keep the game at one goal, but Montreal was not able to capitalize on all these chances.
