NYCFC and Fellow MLS Teams to Wear Recycled Plastic Jerseys for Earth Day
A huge matchup is set for this weekend in NYC, as the Boys in Blue take on the Orlando City Lions. The focus in this part of the week isn’t on the game itself, but on the jerseys the players will be rocking on the field.
As part of MLS’s Greener Goals campaign, which coincides with Earth Day, four MLS clubs will be wearing kits made with plastic discarded into the ocean. The marine plastic was recovered during clean-up operations by the organization Parley and used for the special edition shirts.

I wouldn’t call it rivalry weekend, but it pretty much is. Orlando and NYC, LA and Seattle? These jerseys are just going to make the game even more interesting. The main message in all of this is to recycle, and don’t throw your trash where it doesn’t belong. Happy 420 Day
