Defending Champs Start Strong, Win Game 1

The defending Stanley Cup Champions look to make a repeat as champions, but first they have to get by the Sergei Bobrovsky and the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Penguins started Marc-Andre Fleury was given the unexpected nod as Matt Murray was injured in warmups, and he stole a game for the Penguins, with help from his team of course. Bryan Rust would start off the scoring game by netting a goal around 2 minutes into the 2nd period. Phil Kessel would score 2 more minutes later on the powerplay giving the Penguins the 2-0 lead, this goal would eventually turn out to be the game winner. Then 17 minutes into the second, Nick Bonino would score the third and final goal for the Penguins for the night to make it 3-0. Matt Calvert would score the Jackets first playoff goal for this series at 13 minutes into the 3rd. This goal would turn out to be the Jackets lone goal as the Penguins win 3-1.
