The Masters: News and Notes from Round Two

There were a ton of key things to pick up from todays round in Augusta, looking forward to a great weekend of golf. Here is what we got.

  • It is all about the old, the even more old and the present- First let’s start with the the old, well not too old is Phil Mickelson. Phil failed to capture the Open when Henrik Stenson outlasted him in a battle to the finish, looking for revenge and another green jacket. Currently Phil is still trying to find the magic from his first run at a jacket, he sits at tied for 10th (E). Who would have thought the even more old would have even made the cut, Fred Couples. Couples seems to own the Masters, like it is a tournament of his own. At 57 years old, he is playing some of the best golf since his golden time. Now to the present, the spotlight is on Rickie Fowler. The colorful, energetic had his best round in Round two and is looking at a run for his first jacket.

  • Anyone Can Win This- Right now it is a pretty amazing face, 27 out of the 53 players left are actual contenders for the green jacket, something you don’t really see in the Masters.

  • Interesting Pairs for Saturday- Phil and Jordan are set to tee off with each other so be sure to tune into that. They tee off at 2:10.

  • It Was A Wild Day at Amen Corner- Check out the article by Mike Fritz!! https://www.upstatesportszone.com/single-post/2017/04/07/MUST-SEE-Intense-Action-from-the-Amen-Corner-on-Friday-at-The-Masters
