Kentucky Defeats UCLA, South Region Sweet Sixteen Breakdown
Kentucky, and UNC punched their tickets to the Elite Eight on Friday night. First up UNC took on Butler and wiped the floor with them, beating them 92-80 and moving on to the Elite Eight. Joel Berry II had 26 points, and Justin Jackson had 24 for the Tar Heels. This was a big win for the Tar Heels after struggling with #8 Arkansas last week. This gives them some confidence and momentum heading into tonight's game. Next Kentucky defeated Lonzo Ball and the UCLA Bruins 86-75. The Wildcats held Ball to just 10 points and De’Aaron Fox blew up for 39 points. Next to him was Malik Monk with 21. Both teams dodged a bullet last week. For Kentucky that bullet was Wichita State and for UCLA it was Cincinnati. The Elite Eight game will be tonight at 5:05 pm on CBS. This game will be one of the if not the best game of the tournament. UNC mad Kentucky battled previously this year with Kentucky coming out on top 103-100 where Malik Monk dropped 47 points! Justin Jackson also had 34 for the Tar Heels, but they were without Theo Pinson who provides a spark with his emphatic dunks. There is no doubt that this will be another high scoring affair, but look for the defenses to make some changes and possibly stall one another's offenses at one point in the game. My prediction for tonight’s game is that it comes down to the buzzer. This game is too hard to predict. You really could go either way with this game. It is sure to be a great one!
