Kansas, Oregon Battle in Elite Eight
Tonight the Midwest Region will play their Elite Eight game as #1 Kansas takes on #3 Oregon. Kansas finished the regular season with a 28-4 record and finished #3 in the AP Polls. They also won the Regular Season BIG 12 Championship. Kansas got the #1 seed in the Midwest Region and took on #16 UC Davis in the first round where they beat them 100-62 where Frank Mason III scored 22. In the Round of 32 they took on Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans and handled them easily by a score of 90-70. Josh Jackson had 23 points in the win. Next up was Caleb Swanigan and the Purdue Boilermakers who they destroyed beating them 98-66! Devonte Graham and Frank Mason III each had 26. Their next task is the #3 Oregon Ducks led by Dillon Brooks. The Ducks were the runners-up in the PAC-12 Tournament after falling to Arizona in the title game. As the 3-seed Oregon got #14 Iona in the Round of 64 in Sacramento who they handled pretty easily 93-77. Next they took on #11 Rhode Island who had been hot. They defeated them in a tight one 75-72. In the Sweet Sixteen the Ducks got yet another team that was hot and that was the Michigan Wolverines. This game came down to the last shot, but Derrick Walton Jr. was just short and Oregon prevailed 69-68. There is no question that both of these teams can score. I think if this game could end in two ways. It could either be close and end at the buzzer or it could be all Kansas and they would blowout the Ducks.
