JPP Resigns with the Giants

According to multiple sources, Jason Pierre–Paul and the New York Giants agreed to a 4-year, $62M dollar deal; with $40M guaranteed. Earlier in the month, the Giants placed the franchise tag on JPP for the second straight year, so they could work to find a long-term contract. GM Jerry Reece’s’ goal was to lock him up, so they could have Olivier Vernon and JPP on the outside rushing the quarterback like they did last year. JPP is coming off a great year where he had a 7.0 sacks and 35 tackles. With JPP signed up, it’s interesting to see if the Giants go calling Johnathon Hankins because they have around $9M left in cap space, and if they can resign Hankins they could possibly have the best defense in the league next year.
