March Madness: East Region Day 1 Game of the Day- Wisconsin vs. Virginia Tech
With lots of “Madness” in store on Thursday, it was hard to pick just one game. Wisconsin took on Virginia Tech in a classic 8 vs. 9 matchup on Thursday night. Bronson Koeing had quite the game for himself, hitting eight 3’s to carry the Badgers past the Hokies. With already four years of resume for Koeing he didn’t want to go down without a fight. Along with eight 3’s, Koeing had 28 points in the victory. Fellow Senior Nigel Hayes added 16 points. It is common to see senior leadership in the tournament, especially with teams that have little seniority. Wisconsin has a common trend going in the tournament unlike some other teams in the tournament, they have reached three straight sweet sixteens. The biggest 3 for Koeing came with 8:21 left to go, to put Wisconsin up 4 and eventually would seal the victory. The Badgers move on to play Villanova in the round of 32 on Saturday at 2:40PM.
