March Madness Preview: West Region
March Madness is underway and the West Region is shaping up to be one of the harder regions to decide who will go on to the Final Four. Let’s look at some of the teams that could have a big impact in the West Region this year:
#2 Arizona: Arizona has had a great season overall. They finished with a regular season record of 30-4 and to top it all off, they won the Pac-12 tournament. They beat Washington St, Colorado, UCLA, and Oregon to capture their 6th Pac-12 title and get a higher seed than Oregon and UCLA. They will be tough team to watch and could potentially win it all this year.
#1 Gonzaga: Gonzaga is a true threat to anyone in this region. They have a record of 32-1 and they won the WCC title beating Pacific, Santa Clara, and Saint Mary’s to win. The Bulldogs are looking better than they were last year and are red hot coming into this tournament. If they can work together and play as a good team, they can go a long way in this tournament.
#4 West Virginia: West Virginia is a team that you can sort of take a risk with because, they could be the team that beat Kansas or the team that lost to Temple. In my mind though, they are going to go a very long way in this tournament if they can play as a team and play consistently, they will go far. Just think, they were the runners-up in the Big 12 tournament.
