HUGE Matchups Tonight in College Basketball, Here is When, How and Why you Should Watch
Conference play in college basketball is getting underway, with some of the main power five conference teams hitting the hardwood for some classic basketball.
THE REMATCH (pt. 3): UNC vs. Duke
When: Tonight, 7PM
Where: Barclays Center, Brooklyn NY
How: ESPN, DirecTV (206), TWC (24,300)
Why: Again, a team playing another team three times in one year is a little much, especially if its UNC vs. Duke. The game is being played on a neutral court, something both teams can take advantage of. The season series was split at one, both teams winning with command on their home floor. Expect big thing from ACC Player of the Year Justin Jackson. Not only on the offensive end, Jackson is a huge presence defensively for the Heels. If Duke wins, it will be because Kennard had a great night shooting, and Grayson Allen doesn’t elbow someone in the face. LOL. Game starts at 7PM on ESPN so be sure to tune in.
UCLA vs. Arizona
When: Tonight, 11:30PM
Where: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas Nevada
How: ESPN, DirecTV (206), TWC (24,300)
Why: One of the biggest matchups that isn’t in the ACC is UCLA vs. Arizona. UCLA is currently riding a 10 game win streak. Being the number one overall heading into the tournament was well as having the number one player in the nation. UCLA and Zona both split the regular season series at one, giving it the same scenario as UNC-Duke, winner takes the season series. Game starts wayyyy late for most of us on the east coast. But if you are awake sick or for whatever reason, you gotta catch this game. Tip is set for 11:30PM on ESPN.
JAKES TAKE: Northwestern vs. Maryland
When: Tonight, 8:55PM
Where: Verizon Center, Washington DC
How: Big Ten Network
Why: Shen grad Kevin Heurter and the Maryland Terps are just one step closer to a Big10 championship. Both Northwestern and Maryland are two of the NCAA’s most underrated teams. Northwestern is a little bit of a shock to everyone, beating Indiana and Wisconsin. The Terps went on a little losing skid to end the regular season, losing 3 of 5 to put them at #25 in the AP poll. Game is being played at the Verizon Center, neutral court so it should be interesting to see how it plays out. Game starts at 8:55 and is only available on the Big Ten Network.
