Ichabod Crane Varsity Baseball Preview
After losing to Albany Academy in the first round of sectionals last year the Ichabod Crane Baseball team is looking to rebound. The Riders lost key pitcher, and third baseman Dan Yankowski due to graduation last year, but gained back Senior Kaleb Aschenbrenner and added Juniors Reece Webster and Tanner Mulica. The Riders will be loaded in the infield with Seniors Casey Rutkey, George Cox, Aschenbrenner Juniors Seamus Wolfe, Dave Yankowski, Chad Salazar and Webster. They will have some dominant pitching with the arms of Rutkey, Salazar, Yankowski, Webster, and Mulica. To help them behind the plate is Junior John Wheeler and Junior Josh Hall. They also gained back outfielder Peter Volkmann. They also have Senior Bryant Halpin in the outfield. With such a young team last year I think with that sectional loss the Riders will be motivated and determined to get to Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in June for the sectional championship.
