Sean Day Signs Entry Level Contract with Rangers

On March 8, 2017, the New York Rangers signed their first pick of the 2016 NHL draft, Sean Day. Day was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 3rd round, 81st overall in the 2016 NHL draft. Currently, Day plays in the OHL for the Windsor Spitfires. In 2013 Day was given the Exceptional Player Status by Hockey Canada, making him eligible for the 2013 OHL Priority Selection, making him the fourth player to earn this. With the others being Connor McDavid, Aaron Ekblad and John Tavares, who were all first overall picks. This puts some big work on Day to show that he should have been drafted earlier.
