Duncan Keith Reaches Milestone

On February 26th, Duncan Keith notched an assist on a Patrick Kane goal, giving Keith his 500th career NHL point. Keith is now one of four active defensmen with 500 points (Zdeno Chara, Andrei Markov, and Brian Campbell.) Keith has 89 goals and 411 assists in his career so far. The 33 year old has played his whole career with the Chicago Blackhawks. Keith was drafted in the 2002 NHL draft 54th overall in the 2nd round. Duncan Keith has helped the Hawks to 3 Stanley Cups in 3 years. Some other big awards that Keith has gotten in his long career is 2 gold medals in the Olympics and a silver medal in the World Championships. Keith is a 4 time all-star, 2 time James Norris Memorial Trophy, and a Conn Smythe Trophy winner. Keith won the Conn Smythe when the Hawks won the Cup last year as he helped the Hawks to defeat the Lighting in 6 games. Duncan Keith is ranked 61st in all time for defensemen right now, and in front of him is Ed Jovanovski who has 500 as well. I think that by the end of Keith’s remarkable career, which will most likely land him in the NHL Hall of Fame, he will end at least top 30 in points for defensemen all time.
