Iona Defeats Rider, Advances To Semifinals
#3 Iona and #6 Rider squared off on Saturday night at the Times Union Center in the MAAC Men’s Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals. Rider headed into this game fresh off a 1-point win over #11 Manhattan. This was Iona’s first game in this tournament this year and they started it off right getting off to a 22-point lead in the 1st half. Rider ended up bringing it to within 7 in the 1st. Iona came out of the locker rooms slow once again, but picked it back up eventually coming out with an 88-70 win to advance to the semifinals and play St. Peter’s on Sunday at 7:00 pm.
