Ichabod Crane Upsets Hudson, Advances to Semifinals
On Friday night #4 seeded Ichabod Crane took on rival and #5 seeded Hudson. Ichabod got off to a great start on a 14-0 run, and Peter Volkmann was on absolute fire! Ichabod shot exceptionally well in the first half and played great defense limiting Hudson to just 19 points in the first half. In the second half though it looked like the Riders let up a little bit, and the Bluehawks put the pedal to the metal running and running and running as they would eventually pull to within 6 points of the once 20 point Ichabod lead. The man of the night Pete Volkmann would put it away with a free throw with 14 seconds left to take a quarterfinal win 60-53 over the Bluehawks! Volkmann finished with 29 points, and Joey Werner added 17. For the ‘hawks Tyler Dellavechia led the way with 15 points, and Mike Alert followed with 13 points. The Riders will take on #1 Glens Falls on Monday, February 27th at 8:00pm at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
