Claude Julian Out as Bruins Head Coach After 10 Seasons

On Tuesday Morning while the city of Boston was celebrating another Patriots Super Bowl victory, Don Sweeney (the GM of the Bruins) announced that he had fired head coach Claude Julian after 10 seasons as the Bruins head coach. Julian was 419-246-94 in 10 seasons, which included two trips to the Stanley Cup Final where they won it all in 2011 against the Vancouver Canucks. This firing wasn’t a big surprise to many because he has struggled to bring the Bruins back to playoffs in over two years and this year their playoff chances are slipping away. Assistant head coach Bruce Cassidy will be the interim coach for the rest of the season and we will see if he can lead the Bruins back into the playoffs, but right now they are on the outside looking in.
