UNC Escapes Pittsburgh by Jake Martino
UNC 80 Pittsburgh 78
Chapel Hill- UNC’s streak of playing close games just got a little hard Tuesday night. Game being played in Chapel Hill the Tar Heels were expected to come out on top big. Justin Jackson added 20 points in the victory for the Tar Heels. UNC never trailed the entire game but Pitt kept it close throughout. The Panthers had a chance to win it at the buzzer after Artis took an inbounds pass with 4.8 seconds to play and hurried down the right side before uncorking an off-balance 3-pointer that caromed harmlessly off the glass. Coming in Pitt was looking to add UNC to their resume of upsets previously beating Miami and Louisville. This is UNC’s second straight game without Theo Pinson, a big part of the Tar Heels game plan.
UNC is back in action on Saturday night when they take on ND and Pittsburgh plays at Duke. For continued coverage of NCAAM, stay with Upstate Sports Zone… @upstate_sports
