It was Upset Central this Weekend in College Basketball, Big Losses in ACC by Jake Martino

It was a huge weekend in College Basketball, many teams lost and many took advantage of the opportunity. We know the almost 56% of Top 25 teams lost. Here is the full weekend rundown of what happened.

Saturday Game of the Night: #2 Kansas 79, #4 Kentucky 73

Breakdown

Saturday Upsets- Jake Martino

#6 Florida State 72,Cuse 82

Breakdown: As many people said it was a great day to be a Syracuse fan, and indeed it was upsetting a team on the rise in FSU. John Gillon, who had 21 points and a career-high-tying 11 assists, was clutch from the free throw line down the stretch for Cuse. The Seminoles with the loss move to back to back losses for the first time this season which will likely knock them out of the top 10.

Miami 77, #6 UNC 62

Breakdown: Slow start for Miami ends up in a commanding win for Miami. The minute Miami switched from man to man to 2-3 zone it showed. Switching to the zone prevented UNC from running the floor or work the post. Taking out the post meant taking out Meeks and Hicks. The zone Miami played was very high which took the 3 point shooters in Berry and Britt out of the equation. Carolina was also without key guard forward in Theo Pinson who missed the first 16 games of the season due to injury. This game will severely affect the polls to see if Miami can enter and if UNC will exit.

Colorado 74, #10 Oregon 65

Breakdown: Oregon has been rolling lately winning 17 straight but Colorado came ready to play. Derrick White was big for Colorado scoring 17 of his 23 total points in the second half carrying them to the upset victory over the Ducks.

Georgetown 85, #11 Butler 81

Breakdown: Another great classic Big East matchup between rival schools in Georgetown and Butler. Butler thus far in the season has been a little shock to teams but Georgetown put the shock to rest. The key play came with 1:03 left when Jessie Govan beat the shot clock with a 3 point bomb to secure the victories for the Hoyas.

Georgia Tech 62, #14ND 60

Breakdown: Clutch shot by Josh Okogie layup at the buzzer. Huge ACC win for Georgia Tech over a good ranked opponent in ND. Catch the video below.
