Previewing Tonight's SEC Basketball Matchup by Camdyn Ames
Kentucky vs. Tennessee
The 17-2 4th ranked Kentucky Wildcats visit the 10-9 Tennessee Volunteers tonight in Knoxville at 9pm ET on ESPN. The Wildcats
led by Freshman standout Malik Monk are coming in riding a 7 game win streak. On the other side of the ball the Vols (5-5 in their last 10) have hit some bumps in the road lately after starting SEC play. The Vols look to get their second win in a row after handling Mississippi State 91-74 last Saturday. In that game senior Robert Hubbs III scored 19 points and grabbed 5 boards. In Kentucky’s last outing the 24 ranked South Carolina Gamecocks payed them a visit. The Wildcats took care of business with an 85-69 win. Freshman Malik Monk led them with 27 points and Freshman Edrice Adebayo added 18 points, and 3 rebounds. A huge question for the Wildcats though is will Freshman De’Aaron Fox be able to play after suffering a right ankle injury in the game against South Carolina. Tonight’s game should be a good battle with a great atmosphere. In order for Kentucky to win this basketball game they need to play their style of basketball and keep their composure. For Tennessee coach Rick Barnes knows how to defeat Kentucky, he did it last year and if they can keep the pressure on UK’s Freshman stars then maybe, just maybe Tennessee comes out of this one with a win. The game is at 9pm ET on ESPN
