DeLollo Catches Fire, La Salle Shocks Defending State Champs Hudson by Jake Martino
FINAL- La Salle 69, Hudson 62
Troy- What a game it was to be either a fan, spectator or a player. Early in the game La Salle had a hard time finding a consistent scorer. They had 4 different people scoring, with lots other missing. They found their usual rhythm when Ray Evans started warming up and connecting with DeLollo. The nerves were there throughout, even when Hudson took a 10-point lead in the third quarter. But heading into the fourth, Junior Forward Joe DeLollo knew it was his ball game, scoring 10 points in the final quarter of play. It wasn’t just Joe that led the team. In the final two minutes, Kyle Borey hit the reverse and one to give the Cadets a 4-point lead. The whole La Salle team was clutch, hitting 18 out of 20 free throws in the final stretch. Hudson played well early but couldn’t keep the lead. Elias Richard and Justin Olviares both added 14pts for the Blue Hawks in the loss.
