Chelsea Beats Defending Champ Leicester City 3-0 by Mike Fritz
On Saturday, Leicester City hosted Chelsea in a match of the last two title winners. Defending champions Leicester have had a disappointing season to say the least. Going into this game they were sitting at the bottom half of the table. Meanwhile, Chelsea have been in first place for the bulk of the season. Without the Premier League’s leading scorer, Diego Costa, who sat the game out due to a back injury, Chelsea had a tough challenge at hand. Can they keep up the great play against Leicester?
Left back Marcos Alonso for Chelsea scored twice, one goal in the 6th minute, and one goal in the 51st minute. Later in the game Chelsea’s passing simply shutout Leicester. Chelsea finished the match with 824 touches, while Leicester only had 501 touches. Thibaut Courtois finished with a clean sheet and two saves. A 71st minute goal from Pedro helped to seal the deal. Final score, Chelsea 3, Leicester 0.
