Andy's Going Up Going Down NBA Playoff Predictions
We still have a few more months until the NBA playoffs, but I can see a few strengths and weakness of a few teams that could have a big jump in the rest of the season. A new Upstate Sports Zone special “Going Up and Going Down” for the NBA. Let’s start with teams that are Going Up.
Going Up
Milwaukee Bucks: The Bucks have been on a tear lately winning the last 4 out of 5. The Greek Freak has been just tearing it up for the Bucks, especially against the Knicks when he had that buzzer-beater to beat them. Another upstart on that team is Jabari Parker who is averaging 20.3 points (2nd on the team), 5.7 rebounds (3rd), and 2.4 assists (4th). If the Bucks keep up their pace, they could earn a really high playoff spot this year.
Sacramento Kings: Yes the Kings have a terrible record and have been on a losing streak but trust me when I say that the Kings have potential. DeMarcus Cousins has that special big man talent that probably no other one has. He can shoot mid-range, plays great defense, and rebounds nicely. The one thing that they need right now is some help from Rudy Gay. He has been injured for the past few games with a hip problem. If he comes back and plays like he does best, the Kings could go higher in the standings.
Going Down
New York Knicks: At the beginning of the season, we thought that the Knicks were the underdog team and they were going to shock the world and make the playoffs. It’s not really looking that way right now isn’t it. The Knicks have been on a 6 game losing streak and have lost 8 out of their last 10. Their only hope though is that when Kristaps Porzingis comes back tonight against the Bucks and shows that he can play like an All-Star. Also, they need Carmelo to keep playing like he did against the Bucks when he had 30 points. If they follow this, they could jump back into playoff contention.
Denver Nuggets: Well, what a season it has been for the Nuggets. Big names? Nope. Leading scorer averaging over 20 points? Nope (Danilo Gallinari, 17.1). This is what I call just a bad team. The Nuggets have lost 4 out of their last 5 and just haven’t had anyone going for them lately. If they want to make the playoffs this year, they have to actually try to win.
