PGA Tour is Finally Back in Action for 2017, SBS Tournament of Champions Preview by Jake Martino
It's finally that time of the year again and golf is back! This week the SBS Tournament of a Champions is taking place and Jordan Spieth is looking to retain his title in Maui. Last year Jordan shot an overall score of 30 under par. That year he joined hall of famer Ernie Els as the only men to ever reach 30 under par.
This tournament is specifically for champions so here is a couple of players to watch in the field. The first being World No.1 Jason Day. This is Jason Day’s first start since the Tour Championship. Last year Jason Day shut his whole season down with the second birth of his child. Another player to watch out for his Hideki Matsuyama. Matsuyama is looking to keep his streak going after winning the last four out of five events on Tour in 2016.
Winner not only receive 500 FedEx Cup points to start the year, but more than 5.6 million has been raised to benefit Maui Charites since this tournament moved to Hawaii in 99’.
This tournament begins tomorrow when Cody Gribble tees off at 10:20AM. You can catch this on TV starting Thursday-Friday 6-10PM on Golf Channel.
