Odell Beckham Jr and Josh Norman twice a year. Is it good for the NFL? by Jared McCabe
Training camp in the NFL is just around the corner and the weak NFC East is already starting off with a bang even though it’s not on the field, its through the locker rooms and the media. As we know Beckham Jr and Norman do not like each other because if you remember this past December Beckham Jr and Norman went all out WWE on the field, throwing punches after punches, having to be split up and throwing each other to ground on multiple plays. This game led to multiple fines and a one game suspension to Beckham Jr.
As we all know the Carolina Panthers took off the franchise tag on Norman and made him a free agent. So with out any hesitation the Washington Redskins swooped in and signed Norman to a 5yr/75M dollar deal. That means that us the fans will see a Norman-Beckham Jr battle twice a year. We haven’t even had our first game between them in the division and chatter between them has already started. Yesterday the star wide out had his own opinion on Norman signing with the rival Redskins. He said, “ The reason he’s become so relevant is because of the me,” Beckham said to GQ. After he said that, all Norman said was all he could do was “laugh”, he said. He also said “there’s really nothing to say”. So Norman is saying the right thing and letting Odell say what he wants and make it look like he’s the bad guy in all of this.
This is great for the NFL because its going be a must watch for when they both square off against one another and its going drive up the TV ratings. If both of these teams are very good and are fighting to win the top spot of the division it’s going to be a heck of a match up because besides Norman and Beckham, the Redskins and the Giants hate each other. So I think its great for the NFL and the NFL fans. The Redskins and Giants play in New York on September 25th and in Washington on January 1st.
