Oregon Downs UCLA In Final Seconds, Sends Bruins Home With First Loss by Camdyn Ames

On Wednesday night the Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins battled in Eugene, Oregon in a Pac-12 match up. The Bruins entered the game at number 2 in the nation and an undefeated record, while the Ducks were 11-2 and stood at number 21 in the polls. Both teams stuck with each other in the early goings, until the half struck when UCLA went up 52-47. With 15 seconds left Payton Pritchard brought the game to one point with a three pointer. With 8 seconds to play the Ducks fouled Bryce Alford who was sent to the line with a one and one opportunity. Alford missed the first free throw, and the Ducks got the rebound. They dribbled up the court Pritchard dished it to Dillon Brooks and Brooks did the rest hitting a three pointer for the win! That's not it though as the Oregon fans stormed the court the game was not over there was still 0.8 seconds left on the clock. The Bruins inbounded the ball to Lonzo Ball and Ball threw up a three quarters court shot that grazed the bottom of the net. The Ducks advance to 12-2 on the year and will play undefeated and number 22 USC on Friday, December 30th at 10:00 pm on FS1. The Bruins suffered their first lost dropping to 13-1 and will head to Corvallis, Oregon to face the 4-9 Oregon State Beavers on Friday, December 30th at 11:00 pm on the PAC12 Network.
