Minnesota Players End Boycott, Will Play In Holiday Bowl by Camdyn Ames
After hearing about suspensions that were handed out to 10 Minnesota football players for a sexual assault case, their teammates took a stand and boycotted practice and the upcoming Holiday Bowl game. After reading the cases 82-page report the team decided to end the boycott. Saturday morning the players addressed the media to announce the ending.
Here is part of the players' statement:
"As a team, we understand that what occurred these past few days, and playing football for the University of Minnesota, is larger than just us. ..."
The University promises the 10 players will have a fair hearing with the possibility of an appeal.
The Golden Gophers take on Washington State in the Holiday Bowl on Tuesday, December 27th at 7:00 pm on ESPN.
