Michigan St. vs. Duke Preview by Jared McCabe
This upcoming Tuesday at 9:30 pm, Michigan St. travels to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on Duke. It’s one of the most highly anticipated game because its two great head coaches going up against each other and there are great individual matchups to look forward to. For Duke the game plan should be to try to stop Miles Bridges and force him to take contested jumpers. For Michigan St. they want to limit Amile Jefferson on the boards and contest Dukes threes. If they can do that, they should be able to win a close game. The question is, when will Duke get there big three freshmen back (Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles, and Marques Bolden) because when Duke is at full strength they’re arguably the best team in the country and they can play with anyone. Here are some key facts and individual matchups to look out for:
Mile Bridges (MSU) leads the team in points (17.4) and rebounds (8.7)
Luke Kennard (Duke) leads the team in points (17.0) and assist (4.0)
Amile Jefferson (Duke) leads the team in rebounds with (10.0)
Grayson Allen has been banged up lately and we will have to see if he looks healthy enough to compete on a high level.
