Fire the Cannons! The Buccaneers Have Won Three Straight. By Jared McCabe
Coming into yesterday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, the Buccaneers were coming off great win on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs winning 19-17. It was a statement win for them, but they knew it wasn’t going to be an easy turnaround because they had to play the NFC West leading Seattle Seahawks. All week they were preparing for Seattle’s high flying offense and their hard-hitting defense. The Buccaneers had two great opening drives to begin the game that was capped off by two touchdowns by Mike Evans. The Buccaneers defense came to play and had sacked Russell Wilson six times, led by Gerald McCoy and rookie Noah Spence. They each had 1.5 sacks in the game. The Buccaneers held Seattle to five points in the whole game and went on to win the game 14-5. It extends their winning streak to 3 games. It was a huge win because the Buccaneers are only one game back in the NFC South behind the Atlanta Falcons and if they don’t win the division they could be a sleeper team to make the Wild Card. Here are some of the game stats:
Jameis Winston: 21-28 220 YDS, 2 TD, 1 INT
Russell Wilson: 17-33 151 YDS, 2 INT
Doug Martin: 23 CAR, 87 YDS
Mike Evans: 8 REC, 104 YDS, 2 TD
Jimmy Graham: 6 REC, 67 YDS
Buccaneers hope to extend the wining streak to four games on Sunday when they head out west to play the San Diego Chargers.
